Process of Adopting

If you have decided to adopt a rescued cat – thank you!

The first step in the adoption process is to contact Nicola at (njreb.9705@yahoo.com or 416-989-7005 – text or e-mail is preferred). The next step is a telephone chat to help Nicola determine what type of cat you are looking for, and which cat would be a good match for you. If you have seen an adoptable cat on Petfinder or Facebook, but have not met it yet, Nicola can arrange a meet-and-greet at the store.

The next step is to fill out an Adoption Form, which you can download here. You will be asked to give a vet reference and provide a standard adoption fee. This fee is NOT payment for the cat, but is a donation towards Uxbridge Cat Rescue’s vet costs and continued rescue work.

Then it’s time to take your new kitty home. Nicola is available for follow-up support and encourages adoptive parents to call with any concerns or questions. We love to hear updates about how the cats are fitting into their new homes. That’s what makes our rescue work so rewarding – to know that a cat’s life was saved, and a human life enriched.

Our adoption forms can also be picked up at Pet Valu Uxbridge.
